Selling new Trofeos

Ok, so I'm the "My Quest for a Z/28" guy. I just got her home. She has 718 miles, all highway. I'm going in next week to get new tires put on and I'm not sure how to do this, but since the tires have only highway miles on them I thought someone might want to save a $1000 and take them. So, I've never done this before so I'll need some help. Bottom line, I don't want to take advantage of anyone, I just want a fair price for them. One of the tires has a screw in it that I ran over. So far zero loss of pressure. I don't know if a patched tire is a big no no on the track so if that's the case then obviously the price goes down. I just went on TireRack and set of 4 is $2000. I think $1000 is reasonable for 4 tires with 700 miles on them. They have NEVER been tracked, or even driven aggressively. The previous owner bought the car with zero plans to drive it. He wanted it to sit and be a collector car, but since he bought it out of state and needed to get it registered in CA he had to drive it 400 miles for the emissions to work properly to get a good smog. I got it from him with 426 on the clock and drove it straight home on the freeway. PM me if interested......I'd hate for these to just sit and not get used, they definitely have track time left in them.....

Here's a picture of the screw. Looks like an easy patch. I drove it 100 miles after I got it. Didn't touch the screw. Zero loss of tire pressure the entire time. Not gonna drive it any distance. Just going to take it to dealer next week and get the new tires put on.

I live in Clovis, CA. I guess the easiest thing is to say $250 per tire. I will send current pics with closeups of the tread. I'll also post the mileage right off the dash.

The screw kind of ruins that deal. I don't think anyone will buy a performance tire with a screw in it. Now you maybe able to sell the whole set for like 750 and give the 4th tire away if you buy the other three.

Yeah, I wasn't sure about the screw and I certainly wasn't going to patch it and lie about it so I figured I'd throw it out there because I don't take my cars to the track so I wasn't sure if it's a big deal or not. For the street I don't think it would be an issue? I was totally bummed because I literally bought the car today, drove it home and when I stopped for gas I saw the screw.....no pressure loss at all on the way home.

If the tire is not losing air after the screw is pulled, it could be a short screw that only penetrated the tread block, rather than the cords or the tire interior. Certainly worth a look after dismounting.

So just an update on the tires. Should have put the condition. Perfect condition. The car was kept in a climate controlled garage the entire time they were on the car. Zero cracking or any issues. Other than 713 miles of highway tread wear they are in perfect condition. So here's the deal.....I'm not keeping these tires. I'm not looking to make a lot of $ on these, but I don't want to give them away either. I originally put $250 per tire. That's less than half the price of a new tire. I just called UPS and asked about shipping the tires, then went online and checked FedEx and USPS. As an example, from Clovis, CA to Louisiana the cheapest rate was $89 per tire, so we're looking at $360+ to ship these things. I don't want to turn this into a bidding war, again, I'm not greedy and I'm not looking to make significant $. So for everyone that's interested please send me a PM and tell me what you'd be willing to pay for the tires and also pay for shipping. It might be $500, it might be $800, I don't know what your personal thought is on the value. I will take detailed pictures of the tread as soon as they are off the car next Tuesday. Here's the bottom line, I am selling these tires, even if it's cheap so send me your best offer and we'll go from there. I want someone to have these things to use.

Here are pics of all four tires on the car. I will take more as soon as they are off, but you can see there are no cracks of any kind. I am not going to drive the car at all until next Tuesday when I bring it to the dealer, so they will probably have 723 miles on them by then.
