ZL1 returned to stock and traded
Just a quick note to say thanks and almost goodbye. I traded my 2013 Black ZL1 in today deal completes on Friday. It has 18,000 KM on it and is as mint as possible. Even has the original tires. Paint correction and Quartz Finest. I left the factory air box and all the parts in the trunk. The only mods I made were the RotoFab CAI and the embroidered console cover. I took it off an put on the factory one. I'll keep it or eBay it. Same with the cover. For those tracking pricing it got ( will get) $41,000 CAD or 30,430 USD. In Ontario that nets me the 5,330 CAD in tax savings over selling it privately and using the cash on my new vehicle where I would have had to pay tax. I would have had to select for 46,500 CAD or 34,500 USD to be equivalent on the trade.
You guys have been awesome and a great source of inspiration and information. And I thank you all very much. John |

I said almost because I still have to pull it out of storage. I'm not replacing it really. Just culling the fleet. Still have a Z06 Stingray and rare Soltice Coupe GXP for sunny days. ZL1 is helping upgrade my 2500HD to a 3500HD Dually Denali and the leftover value is going toward a new loaded and lowered Sonic RS hatchback for my little girl. The responsible Dad in me couldn't let a new driver take the ZL1. She is a senior and off to university next year. I will feel better if she does it with a safe new car. My wife and I will drag a fifth wheel around for a couple years to see NASCAR races and skip the Canadian winters. Life changes and you gotta be ready to change with it. I'm sure sure it will seem nuts to some but lifestyles change and so do priorities.

Almost 12,000 miles in Canada is proof that you were enjoying the car. Thanks for the details on the trade in and good luck with your future purchase and to your daughter headed off to school!
