Choose just one performance mod...

Hello all. As I have stated in my other posts, I want to keep my 5th gen as stock as possible. However I do have an itch to do a little exterior appearance mods, and id like to do one performance mod just to tighten things up a bit. Im think of getting a programmer or tuner for my one performance mod. Reason being, I can turn off AFM, tune this and that, and most importantly get the dang slushbox shifting like it has a pair. Then I Can switch back to stock tune if warranty work is needed. Please Lemme know what you all think of this plan. I know the dealership can tell if the tune has been changed, but lets assume any warranty work isn't related to the tune.

If you all could only do 1 performance mod, what would it be? I know im going to hear a lot of "supercharger" "turbo" etc....so lets say we keep it under $1000 bucks and something that a mechanically inclined person could install themselves. Looking forward to some replies!

these cars are all COMPUTER....any mod..any..requires a tune to get the most out of it...yes you CAN do a CAI..exhaust...headers..without a tune...but any car with same setup AND a tune will eat you alive...that is how much difference a tuned car makes....peace out...

If you are thinking you can switch back to a factory tune for warranty, stop. The computer shows the dates it has been written and rewritten.

The single biggest bang for the buck modification on a 5th Gen Camaro is to install a bigger rear sway bar. This is true on a V6 or a Z/28.

It looks as if you have a SS, not a ZL1. With that in mind, and since you mentioned that it has a slushbox, I'd be inclined to suggest a tune. It's not as if your '13 is going to be covered by a factory warranty for much longer, eh?

Otherwise, start attacking the suspension - you're less likely to run afoul of warranty issues, and there are a number of things that will leave your car appearing stock but that can greatly improve the handling.

Hypothetical. I believe I stated that i know GM can tell when the tune was changed back and forth and to assume the warranty work would not pertain to the tune. Just trying to get ideas of what to do for performance without changing everything. Can always use more power but I think the one thing I'm dissatisfied with is the slush box. If chevy would tune them, I'd just assume have them do it, but they don't. So if Ima buy a tuner/programmer, I want to reap the benefits in full, meaning AFM off, tune Trans, etc.

Why not just get a Range device to disable AFM?

Was not aware of such a product. I will look into it, thanks. I had only seen the programmers like the Flashpoint for my ss (and the t-1000 for zl1's.) Flashpaq Has alot of beneficial functions and seems almost idiot proof. For less than 400 bucks tho...it concerns me that it's maybe too idiot proof and doesn't perform as expected.

Again, My bad for posting in the zl1 section. I thought I was in "engine, exhaust, bolt on" but I overlooked that it was for zl1. I should have paid better attention. Some of the letters are so small on this dang phone, still no excuse.
