Dash cam

Hello all. Looking for some advice and guidance on dash cams. Preferably a kit that has a front a rear camera. I am researching myself, just hoping for some experience with these will chime in. Thanks!

I use the BlackVue DR650GW-2Ch. I like it. I've had an iTronics before that which lasted years before I upgraded to the BlackVue. I've seen them go for couple hunderd bucks off on amazon before.

Thanks for the reply. I looked at the Blackvue. I like what I have read except for some mixed reviews. Do the two cameras communicate wireless?

Send a message via Skype™ to tomlink
Check Consumer Reports. They tested several systems in maybe the February issue.

I have not bought it yet but this is the one I am considering:
Rexing V1P 2.4

Front and read camera

I have also been interested in finding a good dash cam. The other day I was walking through Costco and came across this device:
https://buy.garmin.com/en-US/US/p/552032

The price is actually cheaper than previously mentioned BlackVue, although it does not have a rear recording camera. It does however support an add-on wireless backup camera that can switch on automatically (wired to backup lamp) or manually. Also provides some additional camera-enhanced nav features such as looking for house numbers, alerting when the traffic ahead starts moving, and pre-collision alert.

Dash cam

I bought this one https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Using it for the DD since someone almost hit me head on the other day. the camera itself is very nice for the price and haven't had any problems/complaints so far.

The price is tempting on that model, but I did not like some of the review comments.

Isn't it a shame that we need to consider this level of protection?? What a drag...

No. They are connected by a cable. The unit as a whole has wifi capability and can connect to your phone or to the cloud. You can get live footage or access recorded footage from your phone or any computer.

You don't even notice that its there. It blends in with my mirror and the rear camera is a third of the size as the front. So it doesn't block any of your view in the rear.

I have a couple of Falcon Zero 360s... front and rear cameras. Great camera in my Silverado and my Blazer... but, the rear window of the Camaro is just a tiny glow of light at the end of a tunnel, according to the rear- facing video the camera produces there... nothing but glare/ washout.

So, I got a couple of Cobras for the Camaro (and my other vehicle). They only face forward... video is good, but the errors, glitches and failures have convinced me to never trust Cobra again. These things probably actually WORK about 50% of the time, and that's with constant maintenance, monitoring, resetting, and cursing.

So... still looking for better cameras...

Although it is not a 2 channel camera, I have the Street Guardian SG9665GC v3.

https://www.amazon.com/Street-Guardi...ds=SG9665GC+v3

I chose it after doing some research and I really like it. Its a great size and it is nice that it includes a CPL filter. It also has really good video at night.

Good input here. Is there no good camera for the rear window? Someone mentioned it gets a lot of glare. What about on a tinted window?
