Ice Mode in autocross help

Searched and didn't really see anything, but getting back into the autocross season reminds me I need to address my ice mode issue, talking with some of our corvette guys it sounds like a swap to a more aggressive front brake pad would help, so i'm not so much asking what pad to install but more so is anyone else fixing ice mode issues with more aggressive pads, it seems to only happen when going from full throttle to HEAVY brake in a very short time and normally in a straight line. Any help would be great.

Are you using your left foot for braking? I am on the stock pads and I haven't encountered this "ice mode" in a straight line stop.

Never heard of ice mode.

If I'm hitting ABS, driver needs to be smoother until I get some heat in the tires.

Unfortunately not left foot braking and I'm sure the vehicle going into ice mode probably shows some bad driving habit that I have but it just seems to not be very consistent.

It might not be 'ice mode' per se . . . perhaps you're seeing 'brake assist' activity instead?

pedal pressure is quickly
decreased.

I changed to yellow Koni shocks this year and found my driver's front strut had no rebound and weak compression compared to the passenger front. It has made the car handle much better through quick transitions and long slaloms. Perhaps the hard brake pedal (ABS or Brake Assist) is caused by inconsistent wheel contact with the ground, a bumpy course combined with weak struts. Just a thought.

Ice Mode in autocross help

I made the Koni swap also and the stock struts don't feel right at all 18k miles.
And I do feel your on to something with the tire lift
Cars thinking it's on Ice and all you get is .8 g. Of stopping force.
Drawback of Koni's my 275/40/20 will not clear the spring perch.

Does this ICE mode get triggered with all the nannies off or on?

Strange. This is a picture of my driver's front with 285/35/20 BFG A/S at -1.7 camber.
A little dirty, drove through several storms in Texas and Oklahoma before and after the College Station Champ Tour.

I ended up putting same size(285/35-20) MPSS on the front and a pair of GYs on the rear that I had in the basement. Even the pilot sports are "close "

If my skills with the Quick Trick alignment kit it's 1.7-1.8 camber my autocross tires fit with plenty of room.

I've had many encounters with ice mode. I ran Hawk HP+ front pads and stock rear pads for a while, worst idea ever.

Also I've found that he driver is typically the reason you get ice mode. Stabbing the brake pedal right after hard acceleration is what's causing it, its exaggerated when you have different pad compounds front/rear. Brake a little sooner and smoother and you'll never have an issue with it.

Yep , this is what I figured it's not the car it's me. Little too excited with the last second brake spikes!
