Radio temperature display wire color.

I had the Metra kit, changed to the PAC kit, I just left all the metra wiring in place and only used the PAC wire harness. Everything works great except my temperature display on the PAC shows only ---F. I don't see on any wire diagrams anything about a wire for temp display, so trying to figure out if a wire came disconnected, but I have no idea what color wire is the right one. The temp display worked fine on the Metra one.

If the PAC support thread doesn't have an answer (or installation instructions), you'll need to mail PAC.

I called PAC, tech guy was a worker from a totally different department filling in, asked his coworkers and they said they never ran into this issue, kit is so new, try unplugging temp display wires and check for bent ones. So didn't help at all.

Ok. Call back next week, email them, call your dealer who sold you the kit, RMA a new one and/or ask the PAC support thread (whom isn't having trouble with the temp display).

Others I did email with no Temp working on the thread and they fixed it because plug was loose. Mine is not, so going to call PAC again.

Even with this issue, I like it much more than the Metra kit, temp display I could care less about it it actually said ss or Camaro, but once startup screen goes to temp - - - F looks stupid lol worst case I could find a small SS or Camaro emblem and cover up the display, but want it working since I paid for it.

I called PAC again, the designer was out of country, so need to wait until he returns. Today I noticed, the Metra harness has 8 pins on the main harness and PAC only has 7. So wondering if mines missing 1 pin and wire. Also I reconnected the Metra face and harness and my temp display worked right away, so only thing I can think could be causing the PAC kit to not display temp is the 1 less pin.

Can anyone verify the pins # on the white harness that plugs into the factory harness then to the HVAC(black end). My Metra kit had 8 pins on the harness, this PAC one has 7, trying to figure out why I have no Temp display on the PAC kit, but works on the Metra.

Sounds like you're missing the single wire CAN connection, the Metra kit kinda does the same thing without that connected.

Pin 1 - HS CAN High
Pin 2 - HS CAN Low
Pin 3 - NC
Pin 4 - ?
Pin 5 - GND
Pin 6 - GND
Pin 7 - GND
Pin 8 - LIN
Pin 9 - SW CAN
Pin 10 - VCC
Pin 11 - GND
Pin 12 - GND
Pin 13 - ?
Pin 14 - GND
Pin 15 - ?
Pin 16 - ?
Pin 17 - GND
Pin 18 - GND

No idea what the '?' connections are, most likely actuators, or maybe limit switch inputs.

Pac 5 is still its the best looking kit out there, Metra and Scosche just did not do it for me.

I called PAC again for 3rd time, they verified 7 pins is what it has, so I have no idea now what to do. I emailed the tech and he is researching it now to find a solution.

This is really irritating me, called PAC 3 times, been emailing tech. So far all they say is everyone thinks it's a installation issue. Only difference between connecting metra kit(,temp display working) and PAC is connecting the HVAC harness. Wish I could get the PAC kit to just show SS or Camaro all the time, I just don't like seeing - - - °F
