Finally, I have a new hood!
I have been waiting on the prices to drop for the carbon fiber hoods for the 5th gen and now that they are at reasonable prices I finally got the style I've always wanted. Now I have to get used to the color difference. Sometimes living in China has its perks. This was locally made (but they do a lot of exporting if you are wondering), and cost me about $500. Along with some other little maintenance items like a squeaky seat, replaced bulbs and other little things I paid about $43 in labor.

Nice! Looks great... and awesome you paid half of what it cost here in the states.
The CF hood has been one of the biggest head turners I've installed on my ride, besides the wheels. Enjoy!

Love it. I agree though, you couldn't touch a quality CF hood here in the states for twice what you paid.

Maybe the pics don't do it any justice...If you do the bowties in carbon fiber maybe that will tie it together..

Thanks for everyone's input! I don't show off often, but I was pretty pleased with the results. Also, some have advised me to get some hood pins because of the questionable build quality of the hood so yesterday I had those installed. Parts and labor came to round $70. I can't complain!
The company that made my hood doesn't keep any in stock, they make everything after they receive the order from a costumer, so my hood has only been in existence for less than a week. After drilling holes in a 2 day old hood,I went to the local race track to watch China GT3/ GT4 GTC practice. More info about that on my journal if your are interested. |

But you need to re-route those hood pin cables or you will soon be missing paint up front. You can run those right through the gap between the hood and bumper or hood and fender, depending on preference. This way you can have less cable showing. If it was mine, no more than 4-5 inches of cable would be showing.
