I was curious and searched whether there is a NJ law on the color of the tail-lights - check this link out as it has the codes and indicates no modifications are allowed - http://answers.yahoo.com/question/in...8081541AA0XECg. You may want to investigate further or have them on for car shows only. Just watching out for a "neighbor"...

We have them for the side marker only for people that live in states that don't allow tail light mods. These are transparent material that conforms to the lens and not plastic covers.

Ours are removable, but you would need new ones to reinstall. The RS is tinted from the factory, so if you don't have a RS the tail light covers would tint the lights about the same as factory. This would eliminate any inspection or PD problems. This photo is our tail light kit on RS lights.

We have a wide variety of lighting protection kits for the new Camaro, they fit both the RS and non-RS option cars. They are available in Clear, HID Blue, GT Yellow and three levels of smoked. Vendor thread here with a lot more information.
