Premium Fuel Recommendations

Hello fellow Camaro enthusiasts 😎 Had an interesting conversation today. I was talking to a service technician about my 2010 Camaro SS LS3. He asked me where I get my fuel and I told him at Costco. Right then he tells me that the fuel there is trash and that I should get Techron fuel from Chevron. I always thought Costco was good because it's Top Teir Gasoline and has the detergents to clean the engine properly. Apparently I'm wrong in his opinion... so my question is where do my fellow Camaro SS owners fuel up for quality premium gasoline? I've never really got Chevron fuel in the past because it was kinda pricey... but I guess you gotta pay for quality right?😜 All and any feedback is greatly appreciated😊

A friend of mine was in the fuel delivery business, he said all fuel is the same, except when they are filling the delivery truck, additives are added per who ever the fuel is going to.

Im more choosy about my station's than the fuel. If the station and pumps are well maintained. ..I'll be more likely to frequent them.

In my opinion as long as the station is busy, meaning they have to fill their tanks frequently you shouldn't have an issue. Around here Costco always has lines at the pumps so I think you should be OK.

Thank you everyone! And yes, as long as the pumps are maintained regularly, the fuel should be fine

I usually go to racetrac for fuel, mostly because it says "race" in the name. I would definitely like to give my baby the best gas possible and this forum is the most informed on everything camaro so if y'all say something is better, i don't mind spending a little more at the pump

I drove and delivered for Marathon Oil Co.for 29 years And it's correct that it's all the same except for additives. In the Cleveland Ohio area we have Marathon, Shell, Sunoco, BP, and many others. Buckeye pipeline delivers underground to ALL of them. Places like Costco pick up at any or all of the above terminals.

I do Chevron, every 2 weeks. My job is close. My inlaws shop at Safeway and I get 30 to 40 cents off a gallon on those fill ups. I get the reg gas that is treated well with detergents, all their gas is to keep fuel injectors clean.

"Chevron is also one of the first two fuel brands to be Top Tier certified. The other is Tulsa, Oklahoma based QuikTrip." per WiKi

There is a COSTCO down from my work and because of the location that is where I buy fuel exclusively. It has been years since I started buying fuel there for all my three cars.

I've never had any issues.

I suppose this can be another example where opinions are like a$$holes: everybody has one. For me, their fuel works just fine. I buy premium as per the manual's requirements and have never had any issues.

Just my .02 worth...

blown away that VP fuel stations are not on that list! they sponsor sooo many racing leagues!
well, their website doesn't even promise top-tier pump gas. only cans to buy in store!
After 40 years of developing the best racing fuels on the planet, the Mad Scientist is taking the VP Racing Fuels brand to the street! Every week, more VP-branded gas stations and convenience stores are appearing on street corners across the U.S. At each VP station, you’ll find conventional pump gas that ranks with the best fuel on the market. At most VP gas stations, you’ll also find VP’s off road race fuel blends available in convenient 5-gallon pails. Look for them in the metal “Fuel Cube™” storage container out front.
