Noise during acceleration, noise at idle
I have 2 noises I'm trying to figure out. I acquired a 2013 SS 1LE with 7000 miles a week ago. Just noticed a couple of new noises. Have put on about 200 miles.
Noise 1: When accelerating in 3rd or 4th gear at around 2500-3000 rpm I hear a slight rattle but only when accelerating. Don't notice it when coasting or in 1st or 2nd gear. Very slight and almost didn't notice it. But passenger did too. Noise 2: Got home and left the car at idle, popped the hood, heard an intermittent noise/rattle which is clearly coming from the engine component in the attached pic. I've been trying to figure out what this engine component is, a/c compressor I think. The belt on this component appears to move continuously but the component cycles intermittently when idling, lIke 10 seconds on, 20 secs off, for example. Yep, a/c. If it's cycling that often it prob needs service.
