Road Warrior paint protection for dragstrip
I went by a local 1/8th mile track last Thursday just to watch. Saw a 5th gen that made passes. Didn't get to meet the owner but saw the car close enough to see the condition of the paint. The rear quarters behind his tires looked terrible! Lots of paint chips and sandblasted in some areas.
I'd like to go and try mine out on one of their test and tune Thursdays, but don't want my car to end up looking like his! I've heard of just taping them up, but I'm not too keen on all the adhesive residue that will be left over. Will definitely cause marring when removing. I've seen online the Road Warrior roll on paint protection. Has anyone used this? Does it protect against rock chips?

Green frog painters tape works well and leaves no residue

It only leaves residue if you leave it on for very long periods. Getting ZL1 style mud flaps also helps a lot.

You can tape them up with painters tape or just apply some detail spray wax to the area prior to going and then again when you are done. Use a microfiber cloth and your finish will be preserved.

Thanks for the replies. I think I'm going to give the Road Warrior a try.

I washed the car today and applied the Road Warrior. It was fairly easy to do. The first coat seemed to have a few more high spots (1st pic), but dried clear in 30 minutes (second pic). The second coat was easier to apply evenly. (3rd pic)
I'll post some after pics Friday unless it rains, in that case I'll post asap.

OK sorry about the delay in follow up, It rained the evening I left the strip and by the next morning the RWPP had for the most part fell off the paint.
Went to the strip again today for a couple passes, a few pics. First pic is after the runs, normal rubber and stuff on the surface from burnouts. Wet the surface in the shade and let sit for a couple minutes, gently lift a corner (2nd pic). Work the top edge of it across and then pull straight down to remove (3rd and 4th pics) Last pic is after removal, no residue, no chips, no rubber left. I really like this product for paint protection at the dragstrip!

I have this too and like it best of anything I've tried. Great post!

I'm very impressed how well it protects the paint, as well as how easy removal is. I'm glad I tried it.
