noise only at 3000 rpm

Just like the title says, every time I hit 3000rpm there's a little chirp/squeak. It only happens at that rpm and only when accelerating. Sounds like a fan belt squeak or possibly a pulley bearing, something like that. it has the NPP exhaust so maybe its the flaps opening? But I have the fuse pulled for the exhaust so it shouldn't be that right? Any thoughts? My car has been doing it since last summer (parked during the winter), it now has 40000kms. 2014 Camaro SS M6

It is most likely what you think it is some belt chirp or pulley squeal, you most likely are due for a new belt or belts with your mileage to avoid it..... Rubber gets old..

Yea that's what I was thinking, it does have a fair bit of shiny spots on the serp belt. Thanks for the reply!

I have a 2013 2ss with almost exactly the same issue. In 3rd or 4th gear throttling up from 2500 to 30000 rpm I hear a light chirpy fan noise. Was thinking a belt or a pulley bearing or AC compressor.

Yes that's exactly whats up! I think I'm usually in 2nd gear but either way lol. Maybe one day I'll get to changing the belts. If it still happens after changing the belts then I'll be worried lol.
