Mobile 1 Annual

Anyone use this on their DD? not looking for opinions on the heavily modified, or those anal monthly, or weekly oil changers. Curious if it stands up to the ad on TV.

Also, not saying I would use it on my Camaro, but maybe my truck, or the wifes car that only get less than 5000 miles a year between the two...

I used Mobile One on my '79 turbo Buick and when the wheels finally fell off with 186,000 miles we tore the engine down and it looked just like it came out of the factory.

I've been a firm believer ever since. We welded up the frame and I put over 230,000 miles on it.

I have never used any other oil since.

I use Mobile 1 full synthetic in my Camaro and 2017 Silverado.

Nope, and will not use it.
1) its double the price of Mobil 1 full synthetic so why even bother?
2) even if you dont drive the car that much you have to at least change oil once a year no matter what, even on regular full synthetic mobil 1
3) I've got a stage 3 cam, lt headers, and I drive my car Vigurously on the track and as a DD and I would still not use it because its the same price ultimately as 2 DIY Mobil 1 full synthetic Oil changes and to me, its ease of mind knowing I know when the oil is due and not risking the engine because I want to change oil once and run it for a year. That just sounds like a way to inhibit early engine problems

Just my 0.02 cents

pretty sure that "annual" oil would also be a warranty issue.

I think it could work on a brand new vehicle, unfortunately I feel like it's being marketed towards people who really should change their oil frequently just so they know what's going on inside the engine (and if it's a leaker / ingests oil). The ads and everything all seem to be marketed towards people who only want to take their car into the shop once a year for an inspection.

20,000 on a synthetic with highway miles and a modern motor? Probably not an issue. I know current synthetics can easily go over 10-15,000 easy driven miles.

If you want to try it on your wife's car, just get an oil analysis after the oil change.

Personally I'll stick to about 3-4 oil changes per year. I like the time under the car to make sure rust isn't forming, and stuff isn't leaking where it shouldn't.

If your car is only going 5,000 miles, you can do the annual change on a regular synthetic. I do that on my Monte Carlo and my 68 Camaro. I give it one full synthetic oil change in the spring, and that's it until the next spring when it comes out of storage.
