This Dealership Is Actually Offering A Bad Credit Score Rebate

Automakers have come up with some creative incentives and rebates in order to make the sale price a bit more palatable. One of the more, uh, interesting ones is a rebate offered by a Fiat Chrysler dealer for having a low credit score. I can’t say I’m surprised.

Recently I was shopping for a truck for a client in Texas when I came across this dealer listing:

On the surface of it,$15,000 off a brand new Ram truck seems pretty good, but as you can see the sale price is stacked with rebates that not all customers may qualify for. Offers like these are common from Fiat Chrysler dealerships, but the discount that stood out to me the most was the one that read “Low Credit Score Rebate: $1,500.”

what do you think about this idea?

you can read more about this here

rebates are awesome. I was getting loyalty rebates from Chevy for past 3 new vehicles I bought. not on my used Camaro, though, of course.

IMO, Dodge likes to sell cheap because they are cheap. And Fiat knows how to move in mass quantity!

Low credit score rebate or loyalty rebate or 4th of July rebate, really seems all good to the consumer, as long as the bottom line is right, not upside down, and the vehicle will retain value compared to what it's worth (this has a name in trade, but eludes me, atm)!

Kind of like discrimination for paying your bills on time. Maybe it's an "American Way" discount for the masses.

Naw people who pay on time and have great credit scores are suckers when they show up and try to negotiate a deal and payments threw the dealer because they can afford the stupid crazy payments and interest rates.

Its better to go and get pre approved.

My car they payed 19k for it ( dumbasses ) that was there 1st mistake.
Then they expected some one in California would pay that for a fully loaded LS M6 in California second mistake.

I walked I asked to look at it test drove it sed I liked it asked to talk about the car sat down talked a bit found out they lowered it to 14900$ dropped 2k on the spot and let them know I had been pre approved and watched the dude frown and tell me to my face we just lost our ass on this car and he should of just dropped it off to be auctioned off. Walked out 14500 after taxes and all that was taken care of.....yeah the CEL that popped on 3 days in sucked but magically went away on its own so I'm very happy. 4.9% interest 48 month 325.11.
Being my credit is a flaming dumpster fire I think I came out on top.

Fiat almost got.me with this bad credit deal. Granted I really really want a 500 abarth but I have heard of quality build issues on trim and wiring harness rubbing in places and shorting out.

I just get the bottom dollar, then AFTER, and if I have a trade, I throw that into the deal. Once all that haggling is over, toss my AMEX on the desk. They 'try' and tell me you cant buy a car with a credit card, but when you tell them the parts dept and service dept takes it, they have to. Final brass tax is, they dont want to, as a big % of the sale goes to the card company. I then say meet me in the middle, take another couple points off, Ill write you a check... BAM - couple more thousand in MY pocket...

It's a nationwide promo for MOPAR.
