Distance on Remote Start?
Just curious what the distance is normally for others? I think my fob may be defective... often times I have to hit the Lock > Remote Start button combo 3-4 times before it starts, and that's much closer than what it takes to make the horn honk when I press the lock button.

Should be with in two hundred feet. If you need to be closer than that it may help to have your remotes reprogramed. And I'm sure you know this but just make sure that you press the lock button first, then the remote start button for 2-3 seconds. If you can see your car the lights will flash on the lock cycle then flash twice just before the car starts. When your car does start it will leave the running lights on. Hope that helps.

I have also noticed the remote start range is much lower than the range of the door lock/unlock. The lock/unlock seems to work from well across a large parking lot, and the remote start feature seems to only work within 50 feet or so.

Hold the fob vertical, don't point it at the car. This will increase your range

Mine works from a third story window about 250 ft away, and as long as it cold enough-my heated seat will work also.

Exactly. I can unlock/lock the car from across the parking lot... but I can smash that remote start button 50 times, and nothing happen until I'm almost right in front of it.

+1 - I found once I held it vertical I was able to Lock / Remote Start from across the parking lot consistently.
