Maintenance for a 2012 V6
So I'm moving and will be going from using the camaro (a 2012 1lt) as a daily driver to a vehicle I don't plan to drive more than once a week. That drive will be fairly long, roughly 30-45 minutes there and back, but besides that it will be sitting in a garage that will average 65-70 degrees in temperature. What I'm worried about is a). If it will negatively affect the car being driven so infrequently and B). How do I know when to get the car serviced (oil change etc.). Is it bad in any way for the car not to be driven that often and will going about a week in between drives cause the battery to have issues or anything? And again, how often do I get the car serviced and the oil changed, and is the engine oil level readout reliable if I'm not constantly driving the car?
Thank you for your help! |

Your car will be fine , I may use my car maybe Ince a week and sometimes it sits for two months at a time, I may start it up more due to my colder climate. You may want to invest in a battery tender as well. Since your driving it once a week you will not have to worry about flat spots on the tires and even if that does occur you drive a few miles and that issue goes away. As for the oil change, I did mine last oct, run full synthetic and I am still not due, 5k interval. But imo oonce a year it should be changed. But some will say otherwise and they have no issues as well.

Thank you! From what I had seen I wasn't too concerned but it really does help to hear from someone who is in a similar position as me.
