Powdercoating stock wheel?

Has anyone had wheels powdercoated? I purchased a non-RS SIM 1LT with the 18" wheels. I want to keep that size, but want them black. Thought about new wheels, tires, etc then reality of $$$ set in.

Are there any problems with the TPMS going back in the powdercoated wheel? valve stem? wheel weights?

Does powdercoating change the size of the wheel ? Is it thick?

Does it last? Thought about paint but worried about chipping. Is powdercoat any more durable?

Thanks for any guidance, thoughts, experiences, cost numbers, etc.

Good question. I have been interested in powder-coating my stock SS wheels if they're not too much trouble

YES, you can powder coat your wheels. and YES the TPMS will fit back in. although they are not POWER COATED, the 20's are clear coated, which is about the same as far as them being coated and fitting back in afterwards.. YES, powder coating is MUCH MORE durable, and yes, it will last. so you know what all is invloved and how it works and how durable it is. take a look at this for some info: http://powdercoatingbeginners.blogsp...ing-works.html

and somewhere that provides the service and its in your backyard! http://powdercoat.biz/Index.htm

you can go to ANY search engine and put in POWDER COATED WHEELS (images) and you will have more pictures that you can use.

you can do powder coating yourself at home/garage. Eastwood sell`s powder coating kits for a very reasonable price. The only major piece needed for do-it-yourself is an old electric oven to bake coated pieces in. Or you could always use your Moms/Wife/Girlfriends oven......not recommended if you want to live to see how the part looks on your car!
