engine swap thread help.

i know the thread has to exist, anyone here had success with building a motor and being able to have it pass inspection in nys. i sold my ls3 because i wanted to do a twin turbo setup and i figured starting from scratch was the best way to go. i was looking at doing boost ready long block but idk if thats something i can bolt into my car or not. basically i had help building it and dude was blowing smoke up my ass and i have no engine and lack a litte info as to where i want to go with the build. any help would be great lol thanks.

If it is a Gen IV based block, yes it will be a drop in. I dunno how strict the laws in NY are, but you may have to update the DMV with your updated block serial number.

Being in SOCAL....Just get a factory crate engine complete for like $6500-$7000 via the net with all the things you need and make It back to stock....IMO is your best option.

https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fro...ne&_sacat=6028

You could have done a easy edelbrock supercharger upgrade that is CARB compliant....

Christian is right. Since you're in Cali, you're limited if you want it registered legally.

Ny as not as bad as ca. You can have headers, cold Adair intake, whatever you just need to make sure you have no check engine lights and your monitors are all ready, actually correction, ny allows for one monitor to not be ready so long as you have no check engine lights. Also no tint on the on the pass and driver window. Aside from that you should be fine barring any safety stuff, headlights, brakes and tire tread. If you check my modification I have quite a bit and pass every year it's zero issies
