Where to Find Production Date?

Production Date used to be on the window sticker, now I am not sure where to find the production date of the car. Does anyone know where I can find the exact date of the production?

One place I know of, is under the hood.

You open up the hood then look in the engine comparment. There is a yellow sticker near the AC compressor..

The AC compressor is on the right side of the engine. You have to look real good though..

It will tell you the date and time it was built.

This sticker just shows when that part is made and has been proven to be as much as several weeks off since this is a universal part whether it be V6 or V8.

The most accurate one found so far is on the rear differential. While this only shows when it was built and not the car, these are made specifically for your car the day before your car starts production.

Well the date on my sticker under the hood said 7/13/09 and my car was built that day...

I forgot to mention that one that is on the rear differential..

it says the same date and time as the one under my hood..??

Your dealer should be able to give you the "GM Workbench" printout. The date of event code 3800 is the build date the way I understand it.

I you crawl under the back end, look just above the differential and you'll see a white tag about 3"x2". On the bottom will have the actual build date and time down to the second. Based on my info from GM Restorations, this is one of the final stickers to be placed on the car as it rolls off of the assembly line.

Look under the hood on passenger side down to suspension. You will see a barcoded label with a date and time. This is usually 1 day before your actual build date. My sticker reads December 1 2010. My cars actual build date is December 2 2010.

The door sticker is the official (legal) place for the production date, expressed in mm/yy. On some parts, it's misleading because the stamp is when that part was produced. Could have been sitting in a box for a month or two before it actually hopped into your car.

Have your dealer run you a build sheet,It will give you the build date.
If they won't do it PM me your VIN and email and I can run it.

ON MINE THERE IS A PRODUCTION STICKER ON THE PASSENGER SIDE FRAME RAIL JUST FORWARD OF THE AIR CONDITIONER COMPRESSOR. IT SHOWS WHEN THE FRONT SUB FRAME WAS ASSEMBLED 11-9-09. THIS MATCHES THE NUMBERS ON THE DIFF AND THE 3800 CODE DATE I GOT FROM THE DEALER..........
