ZL1 Cradle into SS
Going to be doing a swap to the ZL1 driveline and Ive been searching around for some info and came up unlucky.
1. Assuming I get a cradle with ZL1 Struts, will they mount up to my SS setup with no issue with no Magnetic Ride control or whatever all that pertains to? 2. Am I missing anything else?

The driveshaft hardware should be replaced. Not sure about the mag ride struts. Id also suggest upgrading the cradle bushings to some polys.

Why not just use your SS struts. I dont think the ZL1 struts will be an upgrade if they work without mag ride.

I would no question but they’re lowered an inch so there’s that... I would think the ZL1 spring rates and all that would be much better than my SS. But if it all fits I would be afraid that they are on a stupid setting that actually would hurt my performance. (No clue how mag ride works) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Magnetic ride isn't a bolt on, it's controlled by the computer. Hence the electrical plug on top for controlling the mag part of mag-ride.

Also the ZL1 spring are linear vs a variable on the SS or vice versa.

Why do you want to swap to a ZL1 cradle? You can upgrade the factory rear end and bushings to achieve any goals.

Mag ride without being connected to an OE computer is useless. The struts will do nothing but hold the spring in place. Sell them or toss them.

I have a zl1 drivetrain and the only parts needed were a trans flange and all new bolts. The rear , halfshafts, and driveshaft all bolt in. You don't need a cradle. You will need to move the exhaust a little as the rear is larger.
