Im a future buyer looking for input

Hey guys,
My name is Travis and im 23. I do not own a Camaro yet. This is no joke my dream car and I am planning on purchasing in about 6 months (need a big down payment due to credit issues). I live in Las Vegas and went to Sema on Tues. I am looking for any and all input (good or bad) about the 2010 Camaro LT1 or LT2. I am trying to keep it around $25000 (4000 or 4500 down). So if you had that as your limit what model of those 2 would you get and with what. Thanks guy. Hope to be just like yall soon (Gen5 Camaro owner)

This will be my first car purchase so dont know too much about car loans. Just need to keep my payment around 400 dollars

I don't think you are going to be able to keep it around 25K with a 2LT which is the way I would go. Are you looking at only spending 25K with TTTL? It will be closer to 30K for the 2LT but you will love it if you get it.

This is true, 2LT is going to run you straight into the 30k neighborhood. I think as long as you don't settle for the LS you'll be pretty happy. Not that LS isn't a great car, but just won't have any of the fun extras that nowdays seem more like basic essentials

BTW, what is TTTTTTTTTLLLLL?

what they said...i built a 2LT online, didn't put too much into it and it still came out to 29K...if leather seats aren't important to you, get the LT and put the connectivity and convenience package with it, and if you're lookin for a basic car, doin the LT the way i just said would put you around your desired price range(i've been buildin them online for a long time lol) as for you puttin 4-5k down that you're talkin, your monthly payments might b around 400, possibly more...and if you're really lookin for a basic car, u can get the LS, and add a little flare to it by putting the Ground effects package on it, and that'll put you around the high 23k-low 24k area...but don't just take it from me, go to the chevy site and build them, play around with it, you'd be surprised what you can get in your range...as for finding out your payments, u can find a loan calculator, i forget what its called, but i'm sure other people kno...hope i helped, sry it's so long lol

What is TTTL? Good question...

If they meant TTL, then I would say Tax, Title and License fees. I am sure it was just a typo. Like many, many, many of us have seen in the posts on this site!!!

I got the 1LT with the C & C package (convenience and connectivity package) for just over 25K with TTL. The same car Shad is talking about. With 6K down, payments around 366 a month. Had a 5.4% interest rate. If your credit is hurting you the interest rate is what will put you over the top.

There are dealers on this site that could help you too. I don't know her full name, but one is Becky that is in Michigan. CamaroScotty is another. No dealer mark up and sound great to work with. Good luck

The MSRP for a LT1 is $24,730, I usually add in a couple hundred for fees, title, and registration. So you go up to $24,930. Then you need to add tax, for me it's 1.08% so it then goes to $26,924. Now you subtract your down payment, I'll aim low at $4,000, now you're at $22,924. Now finally add in the interest rate, I'm not sure what you are going to get but let's say 6% @ a 5 year loan. Your monthly payment is going to be $443.19 with a total payback of $26,591.

I didn't pull any of this stuff out of thin air I used a ammortization calculator like the one here.

Hopefully this helps .

Just go for it......SS, these cars shouldn't have a 6 cylinder engine in them. Just sell bone marrow or whatever you have to do to get the extra money. You will be glad you did.

This isn't a thread about whether or not he should be getting an SS nor is it a thread about whether or not there should be a V6 in the Camaro, it's a thread from a member asking about purchasing/financial advice.

For a good fist car, I would get the ls and then come on here and buy a set of the 20'' polished wheels for it. Then It will look just like the lt1 and have the same motor for a lot less money. If you want all the bells and whistles then you'll have to get the lt2 which is out of your range.

I love my loaded 2LT. With the leather and the subtly lit door panels, it just feels so much nicer than the 1LT I test drove. If it takes you several more months of saving up in order to get a loaded 2LT, I think it would be worth it.

Save longer for a larger down payment, why wait 6months and get the 2010 when you can wait a bit longer and order the 2011 (not sure when that will be available). It is what I am doing, at first I planned on ordering just before the weather broke next year, around April so I could have the car all summer. Now I'm planning on waiting on the 2011, which means more time to save for a larger down payment, possibly a few more options and most of the kinks worked out. Initially I wanted to put down 6-7k on a 2ss but I will hopefully have more like 10k saved by then
