I believe the minimum weight in grams is marked on the rotor hat

^^ Yes. I'm considering buying used rotors, but I have now idea how "used" they are since the only weight quoted is their current weight.

I've realized that the new or minimum weight is different for each rotor, there is no universal number.

I’ve seen new rotors weigh in at 6078 g front and 8029 g rear, but I don’t know the min weight associated with those rotors.

I just weighed a new front and rear rotor yesterday and found that the new weight is approximately 100 to 110 grams above the marked minimum weight on the rotor.

If you can get photos of the used rotors they will have the min weight for the rotor on the center hat. They will also list a minimum thickness on the hat. I believe that number is 1.39" on all of my rotors.

I have put significant track time on my original rotors with the stock pads and since June with track pads and the rotor weights and thickness are still well above the minimums. It appears they wear relatively slowly.

Awesome, thank you. That is what I was looking for, an estimate of the difference between the new and minimum weights.

Because of the construction, the weight CAN vary between CCB rotors. So make sure you inspect all of them, not just one, for the weight listed on the rotor (min weight). Weigh them, if it is at/below that toss em.

You can perform a min thickness test on these as well, with a micrometer. That should also be listed on the hat somewhere. Only difference it dont use brake clean to clean the surface.
