Front bumper paint peeling!

After washing a few times i've noticed paint peeling noticeably near the front end scoop and then later on as well as the lower/upper front bumper along the grille. My detail guy thinks the front bumper was repainted at some point and they did not get behind the seals.
I've herd some others believe it was a factory mistake.

I am not under warranty and not sure the best route to go here. I've herd from some replacing the front bumper with a used same color might be cheaper. I just dont know how easy it would to find that.

I wouldnt know what to expect to pay at a body shop to have this fixed but would love to hear some rough estimates from somebody in the industry.

Any help is much appreciated my friends

I have to agree. Looks like it's been repainted. May of been done by masking off the grills instead of removing them since it looks like the paint is peeling away where at the grilles edge.

Repainting the bumper depends on location and how much work you are able to do yourself. Meaning, you removing the bumper cover and trim.

It could be a factory mistake. I had two small areas like that directly under my tail lights where they rest on the rear bumper. I just touched it up with some basecoat/clearcoat touch up paint and now it's invisible.

Since yours is in a more visible place, you may have to take the front bumper off and have a shop fix it. Or, you can go on ebay and find a prepainted front bumper. They sell new ones on there already prepainted.

Great news and decent outcome story
--
Took it back to the dealership and argued that this it is a repainted or repaired front bumper that was done incorrectly and that i wanted it fixed the right way, hinting that it should be repainted.
(when i was honestly just pissed and making an accusation)

Now this is the part where i tell you i RANDOMLY found this exact Camaro i wanted, for an even better price than i was expecting, at a god damn CARMAX

I know what you might be thinking.. "why would you buy from a no haggle car dealership? annnnndddd you expected friggn' Carmax to repaint your front bumper after a month from the sale? "

So let me tell you, they had exactly what i wanted and for under what i thought i would need to pay so why not. Oh and big corporation so they should have really good customer service right?

So after peering over it a little while i was bitching they suggested they could try to fix it with clear coat though "it wont be perfect" and that they thought the lower/upper bumper peel was actually just a scratch... lol....
I said i wasn't there for a half ass job....
Then i repeated my first statement above.

Alright so i'll admit i wasnt being very amicable and wasnt really helping my case to get someone to just give me what i want but by this point id become pretty irritated with everything.

But then the Camaro gods came down to bless me....

After being sat in the waiting room, for about 20 minutes, the same service man comes back to take me back out to my car to tell me they are going to go ahead and send in the whole front bumper to be repainted correctly

Alright so although i really don't know how it effected him--
HE WAS PISSED
He goes on for about eleventeeeeen minutes about how he's never seen this allowed in these circumstances and that this was coming out of their own pocket even though he thought it was well within Carmax standards blahh blahhhh blahhhhhhh
I said thank you very much. thats much appreciated. i thank ya.
BUT HEY could i take the throttle body off with me so i can send it to Bo White whileeee the Camaro is in paint for a week???HAHAAAA yess i did.

Let's hope they repaint it properly. You don't want to be coming back in a year or so with the same problem or even worse.

Carmax isn't exactly the best place to find properly repainted vehicles. In fact, when I visit their lots, I can usually spot paint repair work on their repainted vehicles.
