What type of tires?
What type brand and size replacement tire are guys going with. 305/30-19 is stock, what about 305/35-19 replacement? (Its just a 1/2" taller) I may track it, but only every once in a while, mostly will be street driven.

That is a huge question and there are probably 50 threads already on it.
50/50 toss up on keeping 305 vs going up to 325. I have not heard of anyone going taller. I will not be going taller, not a chance. I want the car lower.

Bridgestone Potenza RE11s 325/30/19 on all 4 corners of my car for the last year. They fit perfectly with no rubbing issues. Lots of guys running them on this forum and they are half the price of Trofeos. They ride much better in the street without the "tramming" issues the Pirellis have. The height looks exactly the same to me when compared off the car. There not for the track though.

Actually, they are a very good track tire. I am getting two sets this year and 1 set of R7's. I will do most HPDE's on the RE11's because they last so much longer then Trofeo's and hold the track very well. Yes they are slower but not that much slower.
I see a lot of BMW guys on them and several Porsche guys. They are a well respected tire for those looking to save a little money.

For street driving the MPSS was my choice. Maybe the new MP4S which Ive read is an improvement. I run 325/30/19s on all 4 corners. Just keep in mind the trofeo stock tires are wider than most of the 305s, so the tires will 'look' a bit stretched. my 325/30s only look slightly wider in the fronts because of the narrower wheel but in the back are comparable to the trofeos square look.

Most recent somewhat related thread I could dig up without starting yet another tire thread question...
Looking to replace original Trofeo's with a 3 season street tire. Track manners are not a huge consideration for these tires/rims. I mainly want the tires to perform well in questionable Colorado weather that I might not start in but will inevitably encounter on the way home (rain, possibly snow, cold temps). Car will be used as a "drive it when possible" car. Not necessarily looking to go bigger on these tires than stock. So far it looks like the Bridgestone Potenza's and the Michelin PSS might have some votes, anyone else want to chime in on your likes/dislikes for 3 season-ish tires?? Bonus questions - what is the realistic safe pavement temperature for driving on the Trofeo's?? I've heard things get a bit dicey below 40..?? What happens then - does the tire come apart before my nerves/ability, or vice versa?? Thanks, Mike |

Michelin pilot sport tires are notorious for cracking in cold weather I’ve seen it frequently and always seems to be due to winter temps on these tires.

I went 285/35-20 MPSS on Forgestar rims. The diameter of the tire is 2" greater than stock. Much better street manners and raises the car 1" for better curb clearance. Narrower width eliminated tramlining. Square setup allows rotating tires.
