funny coming from someone that drives a slow SRT-8. yes I said slow. I can't tell you how many charger SRT-8 guys come up to me and talk trash and they still only manage to run a 14 second run even with their mods. probably driver for the most part because I have ran a mid 13 second charger but hey one in 12 is still pretty crappy with all the crap they talk.

And boy was that a waste of time.

Im sorry, i dont mean to be harsh, i know we have some dodge fan boys on here, but Dodge really screwed up when they made that car, its just too big.

When ever i see a charger going down the road, i think. Wow. thats a big car. no wonder its slow.

and then there was challenger. i dont know how many of you have ever actualy seen this car in person, but standing next to it, it is almost confusing.

it is like a boat, with a huge engine. but at that point, its like strapping a rocket pack on an elephant.

The car was faster than any Mustang GT id ever driven, but only because is has 125 more hp. It felt like i was driving my 22' boat on wheels.

I dont think challenger is going to pose as big a threat on the road as i once thought... also a few of my mustang buddies were complaining that the spreads on the 09' mustangs came out recently.

and the engines are completely unchanged. aka GT has only 300 hp.

Stangs and challengers dont stand a chance to our Maro's

when the '09 charger gets its 6speed manual there will be plenty of them

yeah, i was not happy with it at all, it has alot of torque, but, it's can't get out of it's own way without spinning the tires, which is cool for the first dozen times, then gets old after that, the car weighs way too much (over 4100) gets horable mpg (13 city and only 18 highway) all in all, the car is an effin PIG, you might as well have over paid for a loud turd. I Have never driven a car and said, Wow, What a Piece Of S**T! until I test drove one. The camaro will whip the crap out of it in Every area.

That's actually sad to hear that it's so crappy. I wanted to see viable competition between the two.
It's also sad to hear that you'll still have to get a V8 Mustang just to beat a V6 Camaro.
freakin pitiful.

my first reaction to the car was i kept telling myself it was all good.

yea its not THAT big... yea its not THAT bad... when really... it was.

at first i was angry that dodge couldnt produce something better than this, i have in many situations deffended the challenger.

then i became happy, knowing that was one out of "the three" which Camaro would surely destroy in performance figures as well as style.

but it ends with my feeling almost... sorry for dodge. I wish they could have come up with something really bad ass, something to make the Camaro guys brag about beating the challengers, maybe even something to spark dodge back into buisness. but it seems as if this car really was dead way before it ever took off... due to the platform.

the challenger does 0-60 in 4.7 sec and the quarter in 13 flat with a crappy mercedes 5 speed auto...09 it gets the 6 speed tremec LSD 3.92 and that will probably be neck in neck with the gt500 or even beat it stock without a blower...so i wouldnt be so laid back about the challenger just yet. yea its a pig.....a fast pig. the camaro has yet to reveal its hp and weight so to say the camaro will spank the challenger is ludacris i expect it to be lighter but i think most of you will be suprised at how heavy the camaro will be with all the new safety standards out.

love them both....as long as they beat the crappy fords im happy.

and right now it seems like that is the case.
