Heated Seats Option?
Can you get factory heated seats as a separate option? LIke on a 1LT?
I could save about $1000 if I could get a 1LT with heated and RS, instead of a 2LT w/o RS. I don't want aftermarket heated seats though. But I do need them. It gets cooooooold in the winter.

OK I got a little confused. Correction, my idea was to get a 1LT with the Q9B 19" wheels and heated seats, instead of a 2LT. Assuming heated were available in a 1LT, and lets just say they cost $500, that would still save me about $1500 2LT stuff that I do want, but would still go without if I could to save money. When GMAC starts leasing again, then I'll get my second camaro as a 2LT RS loaded up real nice. But if I must own it, I want it cheap.

Good question. I don't think you can. But, I think GM needs to offer the option as separate. I know some folks down here in the south might not want the option...and would save a couple bucks in passing up the order (NOT ME!!! I LOVE HEATED SEATS! and, i use them often...just to make my back feel better).
Maybe you could look into buying them off of someone from the south who would not use them and want to save a few dollars? Or, look around at those wrecked Camaros for their seats? I think it would get pretty expensive buying an entire seat from GM aftermarkets parts...especially two of them. Then, you'd have cloth in the back and leather up front. |

Seems like every manufacturer sticks heated seats in with the premium package, and doesn't let you add it by itself. Thats pretty stupid. In areas where it gets cold, a car with no heated seats is like a car with no air heater. You should be able to buy a base model car with heated seats, just like you can buy a base model car with an engine block heater. And I don't want to get aftermarket heated seats. For one thing, the heat element gets put under the padding so you don't get as much heat. But more than that, they just use ugly generic switches and stick em anywhere. So it totally looks like crap. I actually can't remember for sure, but I think I got them put in my 2001 chevy blazer zr2. All my cars since that had them. They really save you from freezing your ass off.

Heck...and down here in the south, they need to offer AC seats like they do in the Traverse. If you have never tried them, they are "cool!"...

Heated seats aren't optional on any Chevy vehicle. They are included in packages, and then only in vehicles with leather. You can have an aftermarket shop add heated seats for roughly $500-750.
