What are you looking to get out if it? You will shave weight from rotating mass.

Technically you're right and wrong. It won't add any more power to the engine, but it should eliminate some the of the hp/tq loss to the wheels. Not enough to actually feel, but there will be less lost.

I would save your money....I am on stock axles but I don't hammer it as its all about the torque and getting some grip......MY mods are in my sig. And getting power to the ground I may go to a one piece aluminum and zl1 rear someday but stock its staying alive really well with the trailing arms and toes done up and my power level and driving style.

Nice mods. How much power are you making with that set-up?

OP, I would say if you have the money to spare, do it, but if you don't, your money is probably better spent on something else if you are only lightly modded over stock.

I make about 490 torque and 485 hp to the wheels. wide range on the rpm down where I use it go to 5 grand.. Some day a better cam, ls7 heads, intake, 102 etc I will make a lot more.... just taking it easy..LOL torque is what moves you in a heavy chevy or any other ride////

I was at a car show and the drive shaft company was there with a booth. Met the owners and crew , they are a great group of people. I asked a few questions as I was really interested in carbon fiber drive shaft as well.. after speaking with them and was provided great knowledge from them I found and was told the better choice for the gen5 is the aluminum drive shaft over the carbon fiber one. So down the road when the time comes I will listen to them and go with the aluminum one. Just putting what I learned from them out there for you.
