Water getting inside the engine through hood scoop?

Hello,

I am planning on installing a hood scoop on my camaro. The 2014-2015 that comes with the SS camaro.

You'd usually need to add a water drip tray underneath in order to redirect the water. My question is, would the water going inside the hood cause any damage to the engine or any other parts? Electronics?

Thanks

The OEM one has a plastic diverter that directs water out in front of the hood latch.

It depends on what conditions you drive your car. Is it a year round regardless of weather car or is the only time it gets wet is at a car wash? If it's the first I would add the tray if it's the second you could probably skip it. Skipping it would allow more heat out.

i could drive year round without the tray, but i install it during the winter to help keep heat in the engine bay. not much water gets in with the tray removed

The diverter actually diverts the water to a drip tray that is on top of the radiator, then the water runs down to the left and right and out the bottom of the car.
