Body colored XM antenna installed >>>>>>>

I finally got my Body colored GM OEM XM antenna installed. Purchased it from Becky @ Rodgers Chevrolet (they can do any 5th Gen color)

Info:
This is a special 3 step paint system, that gives durability and color match!
Only $139.00 includes a $50.00 core rebate!

I must say it looks fantastic and IMHO should have been stock or part of the RS package IMHO this is a must have exterior mod for the 5th Gen.

I also finally installed the gill decals my front Camaro by Chevrolet emblem on the nose, and my custom dash plate by Emblem Pro.

Enjoy
Sean

did you have to drill the nose to fit the Camaro emblem on the front? I have one of the emblems and was going to cut off the studs and use 3M tape.

Nope I cut the studs off with a dremel and made them smooth. I laid the emblem down on 3M tape and cut the pattern out with an exacto knife.

Yes the antenna is the black plastic that will fade into the gray plastic over time I wanted it to blend in with the rest of the car.

How long did the antenna install take? Have to remove the headliner?

If you have the sunroof you will need to drop the headliner, if you do not have the sunroof you can drop the rear headliner approx 6" and get to the antenna that way. When I dropped the headliner to see what I was getting at it that took all of 10 minutes. I would say max 1 hour to do the install w/ out the sunroof.

In my case I have the sunroof I dropped the rear approx 3" but I needed more and the sunroof was in the way so I took it to my local dealership my XM antenna seemed a little loose so they did all of the work for me under warranty and installed the painted one

Rodgers Chevrolet will send you a nice little packet with diagrams on what and how to remove. With that being said if you do not have the sunroof you can do it in your driveway all that you need to do is the following. If you have the sunroof you can still do it just a bit more involved and I suggest removing some of the rear side panels to drop the headliner more.

1. Remove the two round circle push tabs near the rear glass (one on the drivers and one on the passenger side)
2. Pop open the little tabs on the coat hangers (drivers and passenger side) unbolt them and pull them out.
3. Drop the headliner down approx 5"-6" I would roll up two small hand towels put one on each side in-between the headliner and the roof that way you are free to use both hands.
4. You will need a wrench to unbolt the single bolt holding the antenna up and unplug the two plugs.

5. Do the reverse and you are all set in all it should take approx 1 hour if not less.

If you have the sunroof you are only going to be able to drop the headliner approx 3" unless you remove some of the side panels in the rear. I opted to have my dealership install mine I just told my service adviser that my factory XM antenna was loose so they went ahead and installed it for FREE since they had to drop the headliner to tighten the bolt

Call me...they look great in all colors.....
It takes a 3 step process to ensure that the paint looks like factory.
They are only $189.00, and I'll send back a $50.00 rebate, when the the core, (your original) is returned! So the bottom line price is only $139.00
