Sound System Question

I have a sub and amp I would like to put in my Camaro. Before I cut wires, does anyone know of a plug n play for the factory amp? I have the Boston audio sound system in my car.

If not, would I just need to splice the audio wires and automatic start wire that runs to the factory amp and then run them to my aftermarket amp? I don't want to remove the factory amp from its intended purpose, just trying to power my aftermarket amp and sub.

Sorry if this doesn't make sense. Typically I would run it from the stereo but I have no idea if there are audio ports on the back of it.

Check out the audio section. Look for something called a FARK. It's plug and play.

You need a 5G-X3RCA adapter, do a google search for it. I bought one on Amazon for $67 I think. I hope you have better luck with it than I am though. I've added an amp & sub to the factory stereo in about 10 of my previous vehicles with no issues but for some reason I'm having a hell of a time getting them to work in this one. First I kept getting a constant heartbeat like thumping sound from the sub even with the stereo off. I tried a different amp and it worked great. Then the next day the sub wasn't working so I went ahead and replaced it as well, same damn thing... worked when I initially hooked it up and then stopped working the next day. I even tried a different X3 adapter, no luck. Not really sure what to try next. Oh and btw... from my experience the audio section on Camaro5 is pretty much worthless as far as technical help goes, it seems to be more of a show & tell than anything.

I'm no expert on this and could be wrong, but I'm guessing the thumping noise is electrical pulses. I would check every fuse (even amp fuses) and maybe replace the fuse from the battery terminal to the amp. Also try soldering all of the connections and ensure every wire is plugged into the harnesses fully. Also I would try to find a new ground.

When I have one that has issues I try to think of all the wires associated with it and go from there. If you have that same adapter as everyone else and no issues with the factory amp, then I would say it has to be a connection somewhere. Do you have a live wire tester? (not sure what it is called)

Also, have you looked into a farad capacitor?
