I don't want to get into the 1SS VS 2SS debate. I ordered a 1SS and I want a remote start for it. I see there is this Advanced Two Way one PT# 92213216 from http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/results...umber=92213216.

I actually just want the factory style that would come with a 2LT or 2SS. Is anything available? Has anyone installed one?

I added a aftermarket Security system to my 2ss.
The Remote start feature was the most diffcult part of the install.
Since the keys have a chipset you need a code or additonal chip (old school)
for the car to accept the signal. As of 2 months ago the Co. that do the Firm ware to suport the comunication did not have the correct Firm ware for the camaro devolped. I went the old school way.
Picked up a additonal Key Fob from Dealer $55 and had all 3 key sets Matched additonal $50. Now my after market system and the car can comunicate back and forth.

I have the Viper security along with the Street Eagle GPS Tracking
The system Text Message's me : Copy with a Email; and has real time Tracking & Geo-fencing. With the addition controls it gives you Access to car
by fob (1 mile) or by phone or Web page.

I have come across a couple different GM part numbers for key fobs with remote start on them. From what I see the Equinox has the same key fob as the Camaro. I just want to buy a factory remote start key fob and get the car programmed. Is this possible on a 1SS?

Well there's the thing, it's not just going to be that easy.

the 1SS (as well as the LS, and the 1LT without the C&C package) does not have the remote start module nor does it have the programming.

I have not seen the module for sale (your dealer may be able to order it) nor do we know how much it is. We also do not know if your dealer has the ability to program your ECM for remote start.

do any of you know if the 2ss manual comes with the remote start? i ordered mine but completely forgot about that and i seen it on an automatic but not sure if my manual will come with it too, i got a 2ss manual rs package anyone knows if it will come with the remote start??

Definitely not for the Manual trans in the LS3...

But I thought all L99 1SS and 2SS had remote start. Guess not...

Ok, I didn't know if there was a separate module for the remote start. I was hoping since the ignition and starter are also computer controlled the remote start would work through the keyless entry with the correct programming. I will be pissed if you can't get this to work, stupidest thing not being able to get C&C in 1SS.
