Dumb question but...
...i have to ask. can a 245/45/20 be mounted on the rear 9" wheel? the blizzak lm-60 says that the width range is 7.5-9"...seems like it should? has anyone done this? i have tried like 10 different searches and just cant seem to find that answer.

If the manufacturer of the Blizzak says their 245/45 can be safely mounted on a 9" rim, then you should be good to go.

ok. on tire rack, when you click the "compare checked tires" link, it comes up with a table of different specs. that's where it says what rim width it'll fit. i'm just posting this if anyone is wondering what to do about winters.

The safest bet would be to call Tire Rack or the manufacturer and verify that it will work.
