Who here is straight piped?

I just did a cat/muffler delete on my SS. The magnaflow system that was on there was quiet and had a bad drone sound. Now i'm catless to x pipe and it sounds amazing but its super loud. Louder than expected . Who else has a similar setup and what are your thoughts?

I've heard similar setup and that's just way too loud for my taste. If I were looking for more sound I'd go for cutouts so I can open and close them.

OP, stage 4 cam with long tubes and no mufflers has got to be hell raising loud! I would recommend a Magnaflow resonated x pipe or throwing a corsa system on there.

I run headers to straight pipes all the way back with turndowns right after the rear axle. Car is a daily driver. I love it. Sounds great, neighbors more than likely hate it at 6am but oh well. Isn't really too loud for me unless I'm at WOT.

This is very true. Op the resonated x pipe does quiet it down alot....but with your mods and the volume your at it might be just right. Or like has been mention here get the Corsa. It will keep your volume but refines it to sound fantastic.

It's way too loud . Fixing this tomorrow. Flowmaster part number 9525454 should help. Super 40 series. What do you guys think? For $95 it could be good solution for now

Makes me want to see/hear a video of it I have deleted the secondary cats, have done a resonator delete and replaced with a x-pipe as well as a muffler delete and I'm loving it so far. Not loud enough for me yet. Next will be headers and a cam in the future. I like hell raising loud and never been worried about it but that's just me. It's music to my ears.

i'd go magnaflow 11386 myself. i think my car sounded great with longtubes, no cats, the magnaflow 11386, and no rear mufflers. no drone at highway speeds too

I had 40's in my crown vic way back when. They sounded great on the 4.6 but not sure how they sound on our cars.

I went with the Super 40 and it's PERFECT. Great sound at idle and no drone at all. Cant beat it for $95!

AR Long tubes, high flow cats, xpipe (not resonated), stock cat-back with cutouts right behind the rear axle. It's perfect. For a long trip I can close those cutouts, for the rest of the time, I can make glorious race-car sounds!

I am now, only because of the turbo. Before that I was running SW Retro catback.
