They have to install them like that per the federal government. They don't want them removed.

True but if something goes wrong with the visor that would normally be under warranty and the sticker is removed then there not suppose to warranty it. Theres a bulletin out there covering this issue. I will post it later.

EDIT: I couldn't find the bulletin I thought I saw it in but I did find an article about it in our GM Techlink. I thought I remember reading someplace about it voiding the sun visor warranty if lable was removed but after reading this it sounds like its just if the customer complains about the adhesive left behind from removing the sticker. But here is a cut and paste.

Quote:
Dealership personnel are not to remove any labels from the sun visor of a vehicle for any reason. These labels are required by law.

Customers should be advised not to remove the sun visor labels. Once a label is removed, a permanent glue mark will remain. (Fig. 8)
Replacement labels are not available separately. If the label is removed, the entire sun visor must be replaced and is not covered under warranty.

Apply a new label over the other one.

Something like:

Sit down.
Belt up.
Shut up.
Hang on.

Yes, something that tells everyone to "hang on"

They really do look bad...and being in two languages makes them that much longer. I'm just taking mine to an upholstery shop and having them covered in black leather.

I might buy two over the counter replacements if they don't have the decal on them and save my originals for a restoration 30 years from now

For the Avalanche I got some nice stickers that go right over the warning. Same size and feel as the warning. I'm hoping someone will make something similar for the Camaro soon.

Good idea. What do you think the driver's side should say?
