Need opinions on better street traction
Need some help. I’m trying to get some power to the ground and my NT05’s just aren’t cutting it. I already had these tires before all the power but I’m sick of spinning 1st through 4th gear. I don’t go to the track and my car is not a daily driver so should I just get some 20 inch drag radials or should I go 17 or 18 inch welds with drag radials? I love the look of skinnies up front that weld wheels give the car. Obviously getting welds would be way more expensive but I’m just wanting opinions on getting some of the power to the ground. Also what size welds front and back and tire sizes. My current wheels are GA3 Forgelines 20x11 in the back so if i go just drag radial then of course I would run a 305 or 315 depending on tire selection. I’m trying to keep factory tire height so I don’t screw with the abs breaks and nannies. Thanks for any input you all have on this matter.

What are all of your suspension mods? What are your alignment specs? What is the rear tire size? With 763 WHP I gotta think you're going to spin your wheels quite effortlessly unless they're wrapped in something really sticky, like illegal-for-street kind of sticky.

I don’t really want to do a 15 inch conversion all though it looks great. My suspension has been fully upgraded with BMR bushings lower control arms, sway bars, end links, the whole package and I have KW V1 coilovers. I know I won’t get total traction but I need more than what I got now. I have considered the R888R’s but I don’t think they make a front tire that matches the factory diameter.

Those are the ones I was looking at but just not sure if these would be better than a drag radial.

The problem is your 20" wheel. At your power level, you need to drop down to at least 17" wheel and a quality drag radial, such as MT ET Street R or SS. If the car stays in the garage on rainy days, go with the R.

That’s what I’m leaning towards. Car does not get out in the rain so the R is the way I’m thinking I need to go.

Does your car hook up decent with these? I know they do a pretty good job at 650rwhp but over that I hear they will spin in first and second gear...
