Style is missing?

I know that I am late to the party and I’m going to get flamed for this, but I really don’t like the styling of the new Camaro. I think the biggest thing to me is that it doesn’t appear to be proportioned right; the height to width ratio seems skewed toward the width. I have been sad with this car since it the concept was released at the Detroit Auto show, I was really hoping for a retro look like the Mustang and Challenger. Yea, I see design cue’s from other ages of Camaro but I think they should have focused on the look of the ’68 since that was one of their best years, anything after ’69 should have been ignored.

On the plus side the HP to weight ratio looks great and I really like the retro interior (just don’t see how it fits to the odd ball exterior)

Ok.. Flame away…

I won't flame you for having your own opinion, but I have to tell you this car is Full of 60's design cues and I'm not really sure what your are looking at. I'm sorry you feel this way.

Blur, I almost fell out of my chair laughing when I read your post.

I think I (and many others) would have been completely disappointed if they had produced a "clone" of a first gen. Camaro, I think the fifth gen. is a refreshing blend of design cues from earlier Camaros with an updated modern look. Much as I liked my '67 RS and my '69 Z/28 (both purchased new), I like the idea of being able to buy a new car that reminds me of them while using today's technology. And it's really OK if you don't like the new Camaro, all of us like different things and choose our purchases based on our own wants/needs.

whats there not to like about the styling... its gorgous when i first saw the concept it reminded me or a mixture of a first gen camaro and a Caddy XLR.

Im absolutley obsessed with this car.... im literally walking around my college campus to and from classes, and while doing so contimplating how im going to build my Maro, imagining it in the parking lot.....
prying for a stripped v8 manual to be be at 30k or lower.

I love the styling! It has the factor that makes my feel like a little kid, when

I saw my first pair of:tweetz: . The only thing I can say is that both the

SS/RS and LT/RS look to close to each other.

I haven't been called "looking at camaro porn" but close enough. Anytime I send a link to a new picture or the ignition video, she just replies "you're obsessed, should I be jealous?"

to each their own...but i mean if you didn't like the concept well...you would never like the production...

i mean the mustang doesn't even look near as good as its 60's counterpart...its bloated and plasticky and ugly....

the challenger pretty much looks like an exact replica and i like that the camaro is somewhere in between

and in 2006 that camaro design looked futuristic

but no need to flame somebody with an opinion...

I agree 100%. I want a NEW car with design cues from past generations. The design of the new Camaro is nothing short of a masterpiece.

Even if the Challenger had a 600 HP engine I would never buy thing thing. Too old school for me.

No Flaming here,i too felt the same way you do.I wished the new Camaro looked more like the original 69, like Chrysler was able to make the new Challenger look like the original Challenger.I myself am still on the fence when it comes to a decision...Camaro or Challenger?I have come to like the Camaro the more i look at it,and it does still have alot of styling cues from the 1st generation camaro's.I am so thankfull that GM did not incorporate any styling cues from the 3rd generation Camaro When the final numbers are officially announced from GM concerning the price of the new Camaro, that will be a major determing factor of which choice i make in the end.

Along with that is avaliability of option packages, and what those packages consist of.For me it's more about the look, appearance, and visual "AWE" factor that is important to me

i don't think anyone should flame, because it's an opinion. if someone doesn't like it, they don't like it. Personally, I like it, but that's MY opinion.

Some people like it, some don't, deal with it.
