What's up with the 4" sun visors?

I love my new Camaro in just about every way. The other day I needed to use the sun visor because the sun was low on the horizon and found it to be useless! Why did Chevrolet make them so short? Anyone? How about a fix for this?

I did a quick search but couldn't find anything, but at one point I could have sworn fbodyfather jumped in on a complaint thread and addressed this issue. It had something to with safety requirements to keep the visor from hitting people in the head during an accident.

You have to look at it as a percentage of vertical window space. 4" is a lot considering there is only about 8" of vertical height (exaggerating but it's not much more heh).

I have thus far found them perfectly placed, but I sit tall.

Also check FMVSS 201U.

They're not sun visors, they're airbag warning holders.

If your the slightest bit short there useless. The should have at least an extension you can pull down.

I guess you'd have to define "slightest bit short" but I'm 5'8"/5'9" and it worked fine on my way home from work just now.
