Gonna Jenny Craig the Camaro.

My goal is to dump approx 400lbs. Where to start? Underpadding, seats etc. I got my 93 just under the 3000lb mark. This must be doable. Suggestions?

Here are my suggestions for weight reduction, that would still keep your car reliable.

Remove:
1. Rear Seats
2. Front & Rear Sway Bars
3. Headers
4. Exhaust
5. Cold Air Intake
6. Light weight wheels
7. lighter tires
8. Floor Mats
9. Light weight rotors
10. Engine Cover
11. Door Panels
12. Drive un a quarter tank of gas

Thats a start for now. Good Luck!

Lighter Rims, rear seats, not like you're using those. maybe replace a few things w/ carbon fiber, (yeah, that won't be cheap though). Floor mats, inflator kit, or temporary spare. customer lightweight exhaust....

How about a Carbon Fiber Hood, trunk and front fenders? take the airpump out of the trunk, remove AC, remove fog lighta and replace with LS covers.

I think the hood is pretty well as light as it will get. Trunk possibly but I dont want the carbon fiber look. Im thinking more or less removing rear seats, lightweight fronts, uneccesary underpadding sound insulation. I know my 4th gen had about 100 lbs in sound deadening materials.

Carbon fiber can be painted, look at the Zr1 Vette...

Are you going to be racing this car everyday or very often and for money? If not then why bother and care about power to weight ratio. You are better off just adding more power and calling it a day. Otherwise spending all that money to reduce weight is a waste of money if your investment isn't going to pay you back.

It can be, but it needs to be scuffed a certain way, and that is an expensive process. Just the CF alone is pricey.... painting it....
