Hood Liner decals ?
Has anyone come across any vendor making heat resistant decals for the hood liner. I'd love to have a yellow bow tie to fill the indention or a yellow outline and an SS in the center.
Thanks |

I emailed Hoodplates to see if they can offer one in white without engraving, just waiting for a response. I want to have mine airbrushed, and I much prefer the plate as opposed to a decal.

I'VE GOT 'EM!!! I'VE BEEN MAKING THESE FOR THE CORVETTE FOR ABOUT 6YRS AND SELL THE FIRE OUT OF THEM. I'VE HAD A COUPLE ON CARS AROUND HERE SINCE THE SUMMER WATCHING THEM AND THEY'RE READY TO GO NOW. I HAVE THEM IN ALL THE BODY COLORS WITH SEVERAL DIFFERENT TEXT OPTIONS AND THEN THE AMERICAN FLAG! YES THEY DO STAY ON...IF YOU DO AS THE DIRECTIONS TELL YOU! AND NO THEY ARE NOT HARD TO PUT ON. IT REALLY WAKES IT UP UNDER THE HOOD. I'M NOT SURE IF I'M ALLOWED TO PUT PICKS HERE, SO YOU CAN GO TO MY WEBSITE AND I WILL ALSO PUT UP PICS HERE. ....OK HERE'S ONE...

Thats just what I was looking for. I'll get in touch with you right after the holidays when my bank account recovers. I'd love the yellow one on your website but with a red SS in the center.
Thanks Reggie |

Can you do a SW decal with an IOM "SS"? The SS needs to be the same font as GM's though...is that do-able? ![]() BTW - Hoodplates said he is working on doing painted versions this week...I'll keep y'all posted! (it is more expensive though)

Thanks I used Dupli-Color Engine paint (spray can from advanced auto parts) so it would hold up to the heat. Wash the mat real good first with Dawn and then dry it well(they get oily under there). then use the Primer first with quite a few coats of it to fill the fabric and create a surface to paint. Then lay down about 4 coats of color and wet sand it with 600 grit to get smooth you will likely hit primer. Stop when you do wipe it clean with soap and water, dry it and shoot it again. Repeat this until you are happy with it before hitting primer.
I found the camaro font online it is called "pepsi" ??? and is the font on the camaro so I used it but it does not include the "\" so I did it in "arial bold". anyway hope that helps. |
