Debadging Question
What is the easiest way to debadge this Chevy Logo that is on the trunk?
Are there holes under it? I heard a hair dryer will bubble the paint. Is this true? Thanks so much |

I'm not sure about the holes, I cant remember when they switched it to just adhesive. But I just replaced mine with a black one. I used a heat gun on low to just get things soft, then a plastic pry tool to get under it and lift it. Then I used some floss to help cut through a little more. Although I think fishing line is better but I did not have that. Then I just had to pull pretty hard to peel it off. The adhesive stuck to the car and not the badge. But when I peeled that off, the adhesive came off in one piece which was nice. Took me about 10 minutes

just like they said
Just like DBHWT said, hair dryer on low and fishing line comes off very easily.
if any adhesive left use some isopropyl alcohol or WD40 and you are done!! |

Low heat, don’t sit too long on one spot, take your time. You can try and pry it or use dental floss. The holes were on 2010 cars.

Have removed, modified or replaced just about every badge on mine. As other's have said, hair dryer on low and thin fishing line work great. Once I get one started, I also squirt a bunch of Goo Gone behind it to help soften up the adhesive; I also use it to clean off any adhesive residue left behind after removing the badge.

Mine is a 2013 and there are holes behind it, I don't remember how many or where. I put the oracle lighted bowtie on and in order to run the wire it required a hole that I don't remember drilling.

Really? Has your car ever been in a wreck or had the trunk replaced for some reason? I was certain that the holes were only on 2010's.

There are two holes. I had mine done at the shop when i got my defuser replaced after an altercation. I'd use fishing line and get the gasket/silicone cut until you get to the two holes and see if you can pull it out. Otherwise, see if you can access it from inside the trunk lid.

A sparks restoration billet SS badge fills the spot nicely though its not cheap it does make a nice handle for the trunk lid.
