Tire pressures cold/hot
Little confused on this. I understand that tire pressure rises 3-4psi when they get hot after driving on a hot day for a while or doing a burnout and then a run down the dragstrip.
My question is: If my tires are cool, say the car has been shut off for some time, and the tire pressure reads 20psi on the drag radials, and then I immediately heat them up on a burnout and take a run down the strip and they worked the best at this original cold psi setting, what do you do when you get back in line and are immediately up next? They now read 23-24psi because they're hot? Do you leave them like they are or do I lower them back down to 20psi right before the run? I hope this makes sense!!!
