Question for the experts! How much does the stock exhaust system weigh?!
Hey guys!
So just as the title says... i would like to know the weight all together of the stock headers and exhaust system for the SS LS3 I know for instance the FULL kooks system weighs 85 lbs on there website here. wondering if it saves weight at all! http://www.kookscustomheaders.com/show.php?pid=891 Thanks guy! i love this fourm

When I did my mufflere delete, we weighed the stock mufflers w/ the tips cut off and they were 18 lbs. each. As for the rest of the piping and cats, no idea, but I can tell you those stock exhaust manifolds are quite a bit heavier than my DT shorties--at least 20 lbs. each! If you figure the above, that's 76 lbs. w/out the cats, piping, and tips, and that's being conservative. I doubt any complete header/exhaust system would weigh as much as the stock system, IMO.
