New PB - Cam only M6 4160lbs into the 11s finally

Hey guys - I finally punched my 11 second ticket last night. I have really had to mentally retrain myself to let the car RPM enough on the launch to get this thing down into the low 1.7x range in the 60', but leaving with 5500-6000rpm is dead hooking and the times keep improving.

The first three passes I struggled with rolling out of the beams too gently and was cutting 1.8-1.9 short times and low 12's. Fourth pass I went up and told myself I wasn't leaving with less than 6000rpm, and I wasn't going to dilly dally around with a long drawn out clutch release. Bam - 1.733 going on to a 11.87@117. I tickled the limiter on the 3-4, probably left half a MPH on the table.

Back up 40 minutes later, tried the same thing, another 1.74, 7.68 in the 1/8th, and then missed fourth. Definitely was on it's way to another 11.

Last pass of the night, same thing, send it on about 5800rpm with a quick deliberate release, cut a 1.73 and on to a 11.86@117. Track prep was awesome, I don't think I did more than baby bird chirp the tires once on the hit.

I think next steps for me are to get on to a smaller tire, that 29" is just too tall. I think a 25.5" tire will leave harder and it'll definitely make more MPH out the back. But, it's a nice start to the season.

Thanks guys - that was really the season goal, to break into the 11s. So now I gotta figure out what's next - more like what I can afford.

I have some 3” muffler deletes in the garage that would delete those heavy suitcase’s I was gonna use on my car until I went with a system that included the muffler delete section. The only issue I think would be they have dual tips so not sure how it could work with your rear exhaust body panel openings. Would reduce weight in the rear dramatically though and help drop some time off.

Honestly I think your about due to start working on getting a drag pack on the car with how well your time is and how good the car is working now.

Hmm - that's tempting. I like the idea of being able to close up my cutouts once and a while and still have it quiet, but I bet there is at least 40lbs of mufflers hanging back there that I only use about 2x a year for 5% of my total miles driven. Might be time to stop managing to the exception and get it done.

You're right about the drag pack - that's a definite next step. There is 100+lbs of rotation mass I could drop if I had a dedicated drag setup - and that alone is worth a lot. Additionally, I could go down to a 25.5" tire, and I really could use all that extra gear ratio.

I listed my ZL1 18x11's for sale, if those sell maybe I can start with getting some 17" rears with a 275/40, and then get the skinnies down the road.

Nice job and its 23.6 pound reduction from stock mufflers to an mbrp delete thats using bathroom scale but every ounce counts i think removing back seat is good for 40ish

Good info on the mufflers. Not as much as I had hoped. I read the passenger and rear seats is 88lbs. 2-300lbs off the car would make a phenomenal difference - that with the gear ratio change would probably nudge it into the mid low 11s.
