Stock manifolds

Does anyone know how much weight you will save when swapping out stock manifolds/cats for long tube headers/cats?

I doubt you would save much, if any weight by going with long tubes. If anything, they might actually be heavier than the stock manifolds.
Think about how much more metal is involved in making the long tubes vs. the short runners on the stock manifolds. Yeah, the stock manifolds are thicker, but long tubes are like 4-5 times as long in the runners vs. stock manifolds.

The stock manifolds are iron aren't they? I remember them being pretty heavy compared to my headers, but that was a while ago so I may be mistaken.

Long tube headers 26.6lbs
Factory manifolds 23.2lbs

Headers have 145k miles on them.
Manifolds have 10k miles on them.

Bo - was the weight you listed per manifold or was it for the pair? My scale isnt the most accurate so I am not sure if I am in the ballpark or not.

I got 44lbs for both manifolds and cats all together. 13lbs for each manifold and 9lbs for each cat pipe.

I used my crappy scale to compare when I did the swap to TSP 1 7/8 long tubes with offroad pipes at that time I came up with only 8lbs saved. Even if my scale isnt accurate, I cant imagine it being more than the 15lbs Lazer recalls though.

Maybe it is because the weight is distributed out further, but the stock manifolds felt WAY more heavy than my long tube headers. I was thinking that my headers combined felt as heavy as one stock manifold.

That is what i recall. People think it is a great weight savings but 4 primaries the whole legth of the header is heavier then the the small cast manifold. The only way to save a decent amount of weight is cat less mid pipes. My tri y headers on the C6 saved me 24 - 26 pounds because they are shaped more like a mid length header.
