Trunk Stuck Shut

Trunk is jamned shut on my 2013 vert. Went to try the keyhole behind the seat and it doesnt do anything? Keyfob and door button I hear a click by the steering wheel. No noise of trunk unlocking. Wires were caught in the gasket so I assume one broke but thought the key hole was a manual release??

Mine got jammed once I got it open by grabbing the interior emergency handle. Dropped the back seat and reached in the trunk.

Spray some PB Blaster or equivalent into the lock
Wait a bit
Try turning it further. The key has to turn a long way. It seems unlikely that both the wire and cable failed at the same time not impossible just unlikely.
Otherwise you’ve got to start taking the car apart

Where is the trunk keyhole? I've had my bow tie off before and looked all over the car at different things, but I've never seen a trunk keyhole.

On the convertibles, there is an emergency trunk release key lock between the drivers side back seat and the side panel.

Read about it in your manual.

This is for the convertibles only, and is there because the rear seats do not fold down like in the coupes.

From the manual....

Emergency Trunk Release Lock (Convertible Only)
If the trunk lid cannot be opened using the RKE transmitter or the trunk release button: 1. Locate the manual release beside the rear seatback cushion on the driver side.
2. Pull the cushion to the side, then fully insert the key into the lock cylinder. 3. Firmly turn the key clockwise to unlatch the trunk lid. 4. Remove the key.

Have someone try to lift the trunk while you hit the button. Sometimes they just need some extra help to open if they are a little jammed.

I have a 2010, there were no convertibles to read about. An early 2010 to boot. I don't even have backup sensors on my 2SS/RS fully loaded (except for a sunroof) car. However, thanks for the info about the trunk keyed lock. I'm always up for learning new info on these cars.

Battery died on my vert just last night. Car was in the garage and I had no way to back it out (L99) or get a car close enough to jump it using the post under the hood. I crawled in the back seat and you can reach the manual release if you have long arms. You just have to flip the cover (not sure the real name) up a little to reach under it. Popped the truck and put the cables on the battery direct. Didn't know about this emergency release. I will have to go check it out.

Wow. Looks like you have a critter problem there. Hopefully they didn't get into anything else.
