2010 SS/RS AC Problems? HELP! Electrical or Component Failure?

Hey guys, my 2010 SS/RS is having A/C problems.

Symptoms:
1) Cold air comes out of passenger and not from Driver side.
2) Eventually, the entire system blows out NO cold air and just warm air.

Steps I've taken:
Taken it to shops and they told me that the hoses leading to the compressor had some leaks and they replaced it. However, the problem came back after the second trip to them. That second time, they had replenished the entire system with new refrigerant.

My take:
I'm not sure if its the blend door or the evaporator, as cold air comes out from either side when refrigerant was added that second time. Could it be like a fuse thing or a leak some where? I think I might take to a dealer because I don't want anymore wrong diagnostics.

If it got cold after recharging I would think there is a leak somewhere. It shouldn't be difficult for an experienced mechanic to find, they make a dye that's added to the system for that purpose.

Minimum $1000 for AC repair. Bank on it...

Definitely low on charge.

The default is to give the driver cooler air vs. passenger or vice versa depending on the vehicle.

When the system stops blowing air or flow is reduced but the fan is still on means the evap core is freezing over to a block of ice. When the ice melts off, the system gives a cooler and better flow. If it goes to warm ambient air constantly, then the system is empty.

You definitely have a leak leading to loss of refrigerant. Get them to put a dye in it and check it again in a few days. If they dont see the dye, bet it on the evap core leaking. $$$

open up the hood and let the air run a few minutes.one hose from the compressor should be cold, the other hot.if this isnt happening you have a leak somewhere or a clogged evaporator.

If your AC pressures are to high, it wont cycle. If your Ambient air temp sensors is reading wrong (too cold), it wont cycle. If your evaporator temp sensors is reading wrong (too low) it wont come on. Sun load and cabin air temp sensors have an effect on it too. So there are a few things that can prevent the system from cycling on or working properly. You need a Tech2, GDS or something similar to see some of these values, to aide diagnostics. Also, a manifold gauge set, a FLUKE, a test light and or a power probe to check things. You can check some things on your own, might be an easy fix, but if not, you'll need an experienced tech to properly diagnose. Hope you get it figured out.
