My 2010 2LT Manual eats snow and ice

Well gentlemen (and ladies),

I received MY 2010 2LT Summit White Camaro just in time for the first snow storm! I got it literally 4 days before we received 30cm of snow over 36 or so hours. It turned our fair city of Montreal to full on winter mode. Snow, ice, slush and salt and sand all over the place.

I wanted to tell you all that the Camaro handles winter driving with aplomb! I tested the ABS, Traction Control/Stability Trac and all the other driving dynamics over the last few days and have to report utter satisfaction with my new car!

My old 1975 Camaro with a 350, 4 speed muncie with limited slip could not "do so well" as this machine does. Obviously. I have to tell you that the day to day running around, getting groceries and doing errands has been a very pleasurable time indeed!

More soon, test videos to follow!

The perma-grin effect pictured above by a good buddy giving me a ride in my Camaro!
Used 75 Camaro = $3500
Rolling restoration over 10 years = $5000
$5 of gas burned in 10 seconds = Priceless!

I'm glad your car is doing so well in the snow. It's a good thing you're not in cottage country in Ontario, you probably would have lost your 'white' car in the snow , they've had over 100cm of snow. Even the O.P.P. cruisers are buried in the snow and hard to see, and their cars are black.

Well, my experience was not so great. I put off getting snow tires until the last minute. The 20" summer tires are a death trap. I ordered wheels and tires and borrowed my mother's Impala, which actually handled very well.
I went with the 19" MSW Type 16 and Scorpion Ice & Snow.

I'm hoping they look as mean as I think they will:

Wow 4 posts and nobody from the south has chimed in about how great it is not to have snow?

Great pics BTW...can't wait to test mine out in snow...just hope the first test gets to be on a weekend and not during morning or evening rush hour!

Yeah, what's up? My dad, keeps asking me to move closer to him in Florida. West Palm beach would be great right now.

Aha, the "snow queen" in full glory! Thanks for posting the pics. The missus didn't look too happy about the impromptu photo shoot though. LOL.

It's because Montreal is in Quebec, and their smart lawmakers decided it to BE LAW that ALL VEHICLES HAVE SNOW TIRES between sometime from the startish of November, until late March. Way toooooo many accidents and claims from retards driving on all seasons, and worse, summer tires!

I think the rest of Canada should get that law too!

Summit White? Looks more like Snowstorm White to me! lol Sweet pics with the sun glancing off the Bowtie!

Didn't it snow in Texas? I suppose they can't really say how you should move south, when it snowed there.

By the way Erick, I'd like to see your wheels when you get them in person. They look great in the picture.

Maybe take another few photos of the cars among the snow?

You drove on my 20" pirelli ice and snow, so you know more how they handle. Glad you didn't get in an accident with those summer only tires!

so does the traction control warning light come on as soon as your car's wheels spin? does it indicate "low traction" on the DIC? I have yet to see this on my car and I'm starting to question whether or not it is functioning properly

PS: snow RULES

Ours "muscled through" on Monday. Even up a hill on ice. Scary, but it got the job done.

Here's the MSW Type 16 18" on our 1LT.
I covered the red stripe, just didn't look good with the yellow.

Damn..........all that salt and the paint hasn't even cured yet!

I guess if it is your everyday car, you have no choice. Today's cars are head and shoulders above the old rear wheel drive. Congrats on the new car!
