So Mike, tell me do 5 numbers and a mega come to mind about now?
Anything? Good luck. Your education is where it's at. It took me 8 1/2 years to get my degrees. It's totally worth it. Study hard and hang in there. ![]() Rockies4

MikeL and ncstatered21, you guys are already on your way to a future ownership because you have the right attitude now. Get done school, (have fun, but get good grades doing it), get a career and you can get a better car easier. To be honest, I am sick and tired of reading these posts from kids 16 to 20+ years old about how they work at Taco Bell, making minimum wage, living with mom and if they skip college and sell their left nut they can barely afford a LS with 8 year payment plan and come here and ask how they can make it work! When I was your age and new car, especially a Camaro, was out of the question. I went to college for two years, got a good job right away and bought a brand new Silverado 6 months after graduating. Your time will come. This car just gets better and better year by year. When the time is right for you your car will be better than ours!
P.S. Don't get married and have 5 kids. |

Guys,
I love your drive and motivation! I am a 35 year old husband and father. I bought an LS and the payments are way below my means and budget. The beautiful thing is, I am putting on the rims that I want, the exhaust that I want, and the small modifications that I want without affecting my savings (short and long term) goals. I have someone in my family that has a '68 Camaro sitting in their garage attached to a house that is about to be forclosed...sell the car!!! Don't ever forget, that as much as we love these cars, they will always be available but our health and earning potential may not. |

....when you've paid your dues, the sweet taste of the rewards of your efforts are worth it.
Like others, I balanced my education, income (what little there was), expenses and dreams. In the end it was worth it. Hang in there. And always do the right thing.

I agree. Someone who is just starting out their working life really should get their feet under them financially before buying this car (or any new car). I went to college for longer than I car to say - living on mac n cheese and in roach-infested apartments. I owned no car - couldn't afford it. Ah, those were the days.
I have wanted a Camaro since I was 10 (the first gen then). I am now 51 and finally feel like I can afford to get one which I ordered about a month ago. I probably shouldn't be getting one now. I don't need it, but I want it and decided not to wait until I'm 70 and retired. I see a lot of people who buy a car they can't afford and then many other aspects of their lives suffer for it. You will get your dream car someday. Focus on getting your life in order first. You will be glad you did. Camaro5 is a great site. I've met a lot of really nice knowledgeable people here. Camaro owners and lovers all. Quote:

Hello RandyI859, welcome to Camaro5! Once you are in the forum, pick the section where your post will be relevant and then click "New Thread" at the top left corner. It is kinda hiding up there.
