Timing chain and Camshaft actuators
Well I bit the bullet and got all the gears , timing chain and actuators replaced. The job took two days and $2200 from my mechanic. The car runs better than new. My car being the LLT 2010 model was out of warranty. I called and logged a formal complaint with GM but does anyone know of how to escalate this higher and has anyone received any type of compensation? Thank you!

calling the customer assistance center is about as far as you can go. Your car is quite old therefore quite far out of warranty. Had you done the repair at a dealership they could have run a policy evaluation tool for you but it would likely have come back for you to pay the entire repair. At that point the dealer could get authorization from his Rep to provide the policy repair to you at a reduced cost but that is mostly the service managers call if he wants to go that far for you. customer assistance can offer you things like accessory letters or maintenance letters
