Talk About a Shock...

After the last Wal-Mart post, I was compelled to tell my story from last week. My wife and I work like Trojans and don't get to hang out nearly as much as we'd like. Last Wednesday we managed to pull some free time together. I wash, wax, blackjack the tires and we were off. We had a nice lunch together and she wanted to stop by Wal-Mart to print some pics from her sim card. No prob Love, I said, take your time, I'll stay in the car... I parked out back at automotive and not a single car came near me.

During the drive home my wife asked if I had anything pressing. I told her she had my undivided attention. She said our daughter needed to be picked up from church choir practice. I drove on to church and pulled up to the back door in a visitor parking space with a little Kia to my left and no parking space to my right. My wife was gone for what seemed like eternity but I had an open sunroof and a couple of notches (very quite) of Pink Floyd on XM and didn't mind much.

A guy in his late seventies whom I've known of some thirty years pulled up to my right in a four wheel drive Nissan pick-up truck. He parked at the back door where there wasn't even a parking space. I have tinted windows and he had no idea I was in the world. I watched him turn is truck off and look over at my Camaro. He surveyed my car from front to back and I watched the look of contempt come across his face. He proceeded to open his door and purposefully "jabbed" the center of my passenger door. He shook the entire car! The contemptuous old bastard's head was about five feet from me when I screamed "Damn!" He jumped with a startled look on his face and said, "What is it?" I replied, I saw you purposefully hit the door of my new car! He started jabbering, "I didn't hit it hard, I've got insurance, I'll fix it, get out and look at it." I said, NO...I better sit where I'm at. Then he said, "It would kill my soul to hurt this pretty car! You're just overreacting because the new hasn't worn off." I said, you best just go on in church and leave me alone.

When my wife returned with our daughter I was gazing through seven shades of RED! My wife asked what was wrong and I replied, when I was young, little kids messed with me and I couldn't do anything about it (I've always been a big boy) and now that I'm grown, old bastards are messing with me and I can't do anything about that either! My blood was boiling! Had I not been so close and known for a fact that he utterly committed the act on purpose it would have not been nearly as bad, not by a long shot...but I was watching him like a hawk. If that guy had been a few decades younger...I would have laid him out in that parking lot like a sheet of notebook paper! Like someone mentioned earlier, I knew we were on private property and I had little recourse.

When we returned home, I got a flashlight and checked the damage. Thankfully, the car wasn't dented. There was a one inch mark that looked like it had been keyed. While I was biting my lip, my cell rang. It was an old friend who used to own a body shop! I told him my story and he said, "Calm down, get some touch-paint from the dealership and I'll tape and sand it like it never happened..."

At any rate...people just shock me too! This this car just too much? It seems to bring out the worst in some people...

If I'm in the car and someone purposely scratches/dents it... someone will have to pull me off them.

I had someone scratch my car in high school and I was livid. If I ever found out who that was, even to this day, they'd wake up in the hospital.

are you kidding me? Well atleast at 70 that prick has karma against him, he'll never feel the joy of owning or sitting in a camaro because of his envy towards other people.
People amaze me.
Glad you didnt get out of the camaro or that wouldve been his last day on earth thats for sure. Kudos to you for not going berserk!

I would have run him over with his own truck.

Making a parking violation. Denting a new vehicle. Not respecting other's property. Dismissing the whole incident as being your fault for over reacting.
